St. Catherines is the largest city in the Niagara Region which is forecasted to grow to 610,000 people by 2041 – a 28% increase from current numbers. In addition, the region is also projected to gain 80,000 new jobs within the same time period. St. Catherines is situated in the northern part of the Niagara Region, just off of the QEW and within a short distance to the thriving tourism industry in Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. With over 13 million annual visitors, the region boasts 150 hotels and motels, more than 90 wineries, over 40 golf courses, 2 casinos, and 40,000 jobs in the tourism industry. This industry generates over $2.4 billion in annual spending, which continues to boost the local real estate market.

CONNECTIVITY & EDUCATION

St. Catherines is serviced by numerous convenient transportation options, including the QEW, Highway 406, Highway 81, GO Transit, Niagara Region Bus, four international border crossings, and three international airports that are within a 100 km radius. The city’s connectivity is improving even more as GO Transit expands its service from St. Catharines to downtown Toronto’s Union Station, making travel throughout southern Ontario even more accessible. Additionally, St. Catherines is home to Brock University, which is recognized as one of Canada’s top post-secondary institutions and has a student population of over 19,000 and 600 faculty members.
